Auto Insurance Optional Coverage
When it comes to auto insurance, beyond the coverage required by law, PGU Insurance offers a wide range of optional auto insurance coverage.
Bodily Injury Liability
Buying increased bodily injury liability limits is a good idea for anyone seeking to protect their assets in case of a lawsuit resulting from an auto accident. If you have assets that you wish to protect, you should seriously consider purchasing higher limits of bodily injury liability coverage which can range from $50,000 to $500,000 or more. PGU Insurance offers some policies with a combined single overall limit for both bodily injury liability and property damage liability.
Property Damage Liability
Although the requirement for third party damage liability coverage is currently $15,000, many cars today are worth far more than that. In fact, almost all midsize sedans are worth $15,000 or even $30,000 more. Given the high cost of vehicle replacement and repair, property damage liability limits should be higher than the required minimum limit of $15,000. At PGU Insurance, property damage limits of between $15,000 and $50,000 and higher are available, and suggested, for an additional premium.
Supplementary Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists (SUM) Coverage
At PGU Insurance, one of the basic mandatory minimum coverage options that comes with your auto insurance policy is bodily injury protection against the negligent actions of an uninsured or hit-and-run motorist. You also have the option to expand this basic protection.
Collision Coverage
With this auto insurance option, your insurer will pay you, without regard to fault, for damage to your car caused by a collision with another car or any other object, or your car overturning. This option helps to protect you from repair costs to your car.
Comprehensive Coverage
With comprehensive coverage from PGU Insurance, you are compensated, without regard to fault, for damage to your car from all causes, other than collision, such as theft (of the car, radio or car parts), fire, flood, glass breakage, vandalism, hitting or being hit by an animal or falling/flying objects. If your car is stolen and you have a PGU Insurance comprehensive coverage policy, you will also be provided a certain amount per day specified in your policy for transportation expenses (rental car, public transportation, etc.).
Medical Payments Coverage
At PGU Insurance, medical payments coverage pays without regard to fault for medical expenses and funeral expenses for you and any person riding with you, if an accident occurs involving your car.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage(AD&D)
At PGU Insurance, we offer coverage for family members or other occupants of your vehicle, for certain serious injuries or death caused by an accident while in your car. These AD&D payout amounts are payable in addition to any amount collected under the no-fault, liability or other parts of the policy.
PGU Insurance also offers other coverage options, including Gap Coverage, Supplemental Spousal Liability Insurance and much more.
